Purchased the nano fleece roller filter by Nature Dimensions for a Waterbox Cube 20 Gallon All-In-One Reef tank. Prior to installing, in the first chamber, I had an inTank media basket holding filter floss, activated carbon, and Seachem Purigen. While this setup was working well, I found it not only messy but also extremely tedious to change out the media. I found that I had to change the filter floss at least every 2-3 days, or else the flow down into the back chambers would slow down, which would result in the auto top off to incorrectly go off. This was especially bad in the case of if I was out of town for a few days and was unable to change the floss. Switching to the Roller Filter not only made maintenance easier, but also gave the tank the necessary stability it was missing. Like all the technology we have in the reef hobby, there’s always a little bit of a learning curve when trying some new piece of equipment. However, there are plenty of video and text instructions online on the website, and the company’s team is extremely responsive at answering any personal questions if you reach out to them by email. After eventually getting to understand how it works, I am very pleased with the end result. This is a new tank, and unfortunately going through a Dino phase, I am constantly blowing up detritus and using the flow in the tank to lift it into the roller. This is causing it to go through the fleece relatively fast, however I can confidently say that it is catching as much of it as possible and I expect the phase to pass in short time. Highly recommend getting this product for anyone thinking about it and tried of constantly changing filter floss / socks!
