User Guides
1. How It Works
The N-Clear Nano Filter uses an optical water-level sensor to detect clogging of the fleece media. When debris blocks water flow, the water level rises. Once it reaches the sensor, the motor activates and rolls fresh fleece, restoring flow and clarity.
2. Installation & Setup
Sensor Adjustment Tutorial:
- Check the initial water level in the filter case. The ideal level should be ~1/2 inch below the emergency overflow opening...
- Position the sensor slightly above the emergency overflow opening.
- Raise/lower the sensor based on triggering frequency and fleece status.
3. Compatibility & Adapters
Please refer to our product page for the latest list of supported AIO tanks. If your tank is under 30 gallons but not listed, feel free to contact us.
4. Sensor Behavior
Normal Mode: Rolls for 1–2 seconds until water drops below the sensor. Best for maintaining stable water levels.
High-Efficiency Mode: Rolls for ~7 seconds per trigger. Removes waste faster but may cause more fluctuation.
Sensor Adjustment Tip:
- Raise the sensor if it triggers too often.
- Lower it if it rarely triggers. Check pump flow rate as well.
5. Fleece Roll Usage
Roll Frequency: Varies by tank bioload, flow rate, and sensor height. May roll every few hours to every 10+ hours.
Replacement Interval: Every 2–4 weeks. Each roll is 82 ft and designed for single use.
6. ATO Behavior
The filter may cause slight water level shifts between the display and rear chambers:
- Dirty fleece: More water stays in the display section.
- Clean fleece: More water shifts into the rear chamber.
This behavior is normal and usually stabilizes within 1–2 days. For best ATO stability, use Normal Mode.
