Main vs Extension

The extension unit does not include a power adapter, controller, or sensor. A dual-link cable is included. It must be connected to a main filter controller to run in Sync mode, and all connected motors advance together when the main sensor triggers. Sync mode supports single, dual, and triple filter configurations. A multi-filter setup is highly recommended for systems with multiple filter chambers, especially systems above 60 gal / 227 L. As a general guideline, use one M for about 30–60 gal / 114–227 L, two for about 60–120 gal / 227–454 L, and three for about 120–180 gal / 454–681 L. The final configuration should follow tank volume, flow, bioload, and the number of active sock openings.

For unused openings, you can use the N-Fit Filter Sock Cover to block water flow through the opening.
